Detail Solar is a family-owned solar company based in Greenville, South Carolina. Converting to solar is a big step, and we guide every customer through the entire process, taking the time to understand your roof, your energy usage, and your goals before building a solution around you, never a one-size-fits-all package.
From your first inquiry to your final inspection, our team is with you every step of the way. We specialize in solar installations, detach & resets, maintenance, and repairs throughout Greenville and beyond, and our relationship doesn't end at the install.

Our founder, Paul Zimmer, Sr., grew up working on a farm, learning the value of hard work and integrity from an early age. After earning his degree in Electrical Engineering, he brought that technical foundation into the solar industry, and his dedication to excellence led him to become only the second person in South Carolina to achieve NABCEP certification, one of the most respected credentials in solar.

Paul Zimmer, Sr.
Owner & FounderThe second NABCEP-certified professional in South Carolina.
Raised on a farm, Paul learned hard work and integrity early. An electrical engineer by training, his dedication to excellence made him only the second person in South Carolina to achieve NABCEP certification, and he built Detail Solar on those same standards. A man of deep personal faith, Paul spends much of his time away from work on mission trips, bringing solar power to communities overseas. Otherwise you'll find him with his wife, Sherry.
Paul Zimmer, Jr.
Office ManagerJoined his father in 2019 to keep the office tight and customer-focused.
Paul, Jr., quickly became integral to the operation, bringing construction, bookkeeping, and customer-service experience. If you call Detail Solar, odds are good he's the one making sure your project stays on track from the first conversation to the final inspection.
Austin Shannon
VP of OperationsCame to solar from sales and never looked back.
From the technical side of installations to utility interconnections and customer education, Austin ensures every project runs smoothly from start to finish. He's the reason permits clear, inspections pass, and timelines hold.
Jake Zimmer
Director of TechnologyBuilds internal tools and keeps Detail Solar's systems running efficiently.
Jake is Detail Solar's full-stack operator. He builds the internal tools the team relies on every day and works to make the company's setup faster, cleaner, and more efficient behind the scenes. He grew up in the company his dad started in 2014.
