Global Impact

Solar reaches
further than Greenville.

"If we can power a small island, we can power your home." Our work extends beyond the Upstate to bring electricity and education where it's needed most.

Powering the Outer Islands

The first power
on the outer islands of Yap.

In 2008, the outer islands of Yap, Micronesia, were still largely without reliable electricity. Years before founding Detail Solar, our founder Paul Zimmer, Sr. was part of a team that partnered with the European Development Fund (EDF) to bring solar-powered electricity to communities that had never had it before.

These installations transformed daily life, enabling education, healthcare, and economic opportunity for people living on the outer islands. It's a project we remain proud of, and one that continues to inform how we think about the impact of our work in Greenville and beyond. Supporting Education in Yap

A school
on the island of Yap.

Detail Solar's founder and his family have long-standing ties to the island of Yap, Micronesia, where they helped establish a school for local children. That school, Faith Christian Academy, continues to provide education, food, and shelter for children on the island.

Supporting that work remains part of what Detail Solar stands for: using the success of our solar business at home to support electrification and education efforts abroad, including Pacific HELPS, the nonprofit we partner with to help sustain this work in Yap.
