Campus, lake,
and the houses.
Clemson’s solar work is on the houses, not the dorms. Blue Ridge Electric is the usual meter. We come from Greenville with no travel fee.
Clemson, Pickens County
Houses, not dorms,
on a co-op meter.
Clemson is a university town on Lake Hartwell. Most of the city is in Pickens County, with a smaller area in Anderson County. Tillman Hall and College Avenue are the center of campus. The solar we do is on houses: faculty streets, in-town roofs, and lakeside property. Census estimates make that obvious. The median year built is 1988, and only about 40 percent of housing units are detached houses, because rentals make up so much of the city. Those detached roofs are the ones that carry panels, usually asphalt shingle, often under hardwood shade. The city’s own utility billing is water and sewer. Electricity is Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative. A bill that names Duke Energy Carolinas is followed instead. From our shop it is about thirty-four miles, mostly US-123, roughly fifty minutes.
Clemson’s permit desk is at 1250 Tiger Boulevard, and the city requires a permit for new construction, repairs, and renovations. Outside the city, the county of the parcel applies. We file the application that matches the house.
Existing systems are on solar panel repair. Storage is on battery repairs. Campus-area commercial work is on commercial solar. The request form is the intake. Easley is on the way down US-123, and Anderson is the Electric City to the south.
Who repairs solar panels in Clemson?
We repair house arrays in town and toward Lake Hartwell, including systems another company installed. Shade from hardwoods hides both dirt and real faults. We test. Dorms and campus buildings are not the residential job. If you have a house with panels, the crew comes from Greenville.
What does solar service mean on a Blue Ridge bill?
Service is inspection, cleaning, and repair of the equipment. Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative is the utility for Clemson, so interconnection follows the co-op, not a Duke Energy form, unless your bill actually says Duke. Bring the statement. The city water bill is not the electric account.
Is there a solar company that will come to Clemson?
Yes. Detail Solar treats Clemson as regular Upstate territory. The shop is at 1609 Rutherford Road, about fifty minutes away, mostly on US-123. There is no travel surcharge. We install on houses and commercial roofs, and we service what is already up.
Can you repair an inverter in Clemson?
Yes. Inverter repair is a house call, whether the box is a string inverter or microinverters under a shaded roof. We separate shade loss from a failed unit. If the manufacturer warranty still covers the inverter, we use it. A dark monitoring app is not automatically a new array.
Who removes panels for a roof near Clemson?
We detach and reset on the houses, including lakeside roofs where the pitch and the trees make the job slower. Call when the roofer is still scheduling. Panels come off before tear-off and go back on only after the new roof is ready to hold them. Then we test.
What if the Clemson installer stopped answering?
Faculty streets and lake houses both end up with orphaned systems when you can't reach a national seller. We inspect and repair anyway. Equipment warranties often remain. Start on the orphaned-systems page with the address and the brand if you have it.
Can a Clemson house add a battery?
Sometimes, and Blue Ridge Electric has to accept the design. We check the inverter before we recommend storage. Lake houses ask about backup more often than in-town roofs. A battery is only backup if it is interconnected and sized for the loads you named. We do not skip that step.
How does solar maintenance work around Clemson?
Hardwood shade, pollen, and nests show up together on a lot of these roofs. Maintenance compares production with the shade on that lot, checks wiring under the array, and cleans the glass when debris is the loss. We will not tell you a wash fixes a roof that the trees cover.

Frequently Asked Questions
Clemson, SC
questions, answered.
Does the City of Clemson provide electricity?
The city’s utility billing is water and sewer. Electric service for Clemson is Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative. If an address outside town is on Duke Energy Carolinas, that bill is the one we follow.
Do you work on campus buildings?
Commercial roofs, ground mounts, and carports in the Clemson area are in scope. Residence halls are a different owner and a different procurement. If you represent a building with a roof and a meter, say so on the request form.
Which county is the house in?
Most of Clemson is in Pickens County. A smaller part of the city is in Anderson County. Houses inside the city limits file with Clemson, not the county. We confirm the parcel rather than assuming from the mailing address.
Is Clemson inside your normal radius?
Yes. About thirty-four miles and roughly fifty minutes from Rutherford Road, mostly US-123. Consultations and service calls do not carry a travel surcharge.
